William Aschtgen

Bill is survived by his wife, June, 1 son, William Dale Geordt of Cherry Valley, IL; 4 daughters: Kathryn (Louis) Dorsey and Jane (Rodney) Bowen, both of Rockford, Donna (James) Howard of Pearl City, IL and Lori (K.C.) Lassard of Duluth, MN; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; his twin sister, Clara Shafer of Rockford. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Eugene, his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Bill was born February 2, 1921 in Cascade, Iowa the son of Eugene and Mable (Gearhart) Aschtgen. He was educated in the Cascade schools and enlisted in the Army in November of 1942. He served in Africa and Italy and was discharged in November of 1945. Bill married June Brokaw in Monticello, Iowa on February 23, 1946, and together they moved to Rockford in March. He retired from Ipsen Industries in October of 1981.
