Verna Willenbring

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence, 3 daughters: Marjean Rausch and Diane (Glenn) Lichti, both of Dubuque, and Karen (Bruce) Knipper of Delhi; 2 sons: Steve (Marge) Willenbring and Mark (Marilyn) Willenbring, both of Dyersville; 11 grandchildren: Cherie Willenbring, Lisa (Brian) Johnson, Jenny (Jayme) Wulfekuhle, Scott, Rick, and Terry Rausch, Matt, Josh and Bethany Lichti, Eric and Travis Knipper; 1 step grandson, Corey Coleman; 4 great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Art Westmark, Albert Willenbring, Leona Willenbring, Clarence & Adella Lahr. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Chad Knipper, one son-in-law, Patrick Rausch, and two sisters, Valerie Mensen and Wilma Westmark. Verna was born on August 24, 1928, in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Richard & Margaret (Woerdehoff) Krapfl. She married Lawrence Willenbring on September 29, 1947, at the St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. She was a member of the V.F.W Auxiliary and loved gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family. A Verna Willenbring Memorial Fund has been established in her memory.
