DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Ronald “Sketti” A. Hermsen, 64, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville, Iowa, with burial following in Fairview cemetery in Earlville. Rev. Philip Agyei will officiate.
Ron was born on May 26, 1960, in Dubuque, IA, son of Roger and Grace (Westhoff) Hermsen. He married Elaine Diesburg on December 3, 2022. He logged over 3.5 million miles in his lifetime, while appreciating the view from the windshield of his beloved Kenworth with a Mountain Dew in hand. Sketti was always a phone call away and his love and laughter will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors include wife, Elaine; mother, Grace Hermsen of Dyersville; children: Samantha Hermsen of Portland, Maine, Jackie (Sam) Rawls of Porter, TX and Nicole (Kyle) Jester of Dyersville; 2 stepchildren: Erin (Tony) Schilling of Worthington and Danielle (Keith) Kluesner of New Vienna; grandchildren: Henry, Lily and Mia Rawls; 4 step-grandchildren: Dallas and Vada Schilling and Vivian and Boone Kluesner; siblings: Dave (Delores) Hermsen of Dyersville, Carl (Lisa) Hermsen of Earlville and Paul (DeAnna) Hermsen of Van Horne, a sister-in-law, Connie (Jim) O’Connell of Earlville, a father-in-law Ervin Ham of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger in 2020.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. De Andrade, Dr. J. Wilde, and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. The family would also like to extend a thank you to the doctors and medical staff at MercyOne in Dubuque and Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
