Randy was born on July 16, 1951, in Dubuque, IA, son of LaVern and Elizabeth “Betty” (Engling) Conrad. He was raised in Dyersville, where he cherished lifelong friendships and memories. He married Lori Hicks on June 25, 1977, in Dyersville, and together they built a wonderful life filled with family, friends, and community.
Randy worked for many years at John Deere Dubuque Works, where he was known for his strong work ethic, sharp problem-solving skills, and natural ability to figure out just about anything. He took great pride in his work, earned the respect of his coworkers, and enjoyed a fulfilling career before retiring.
Outside of work, Randy enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and especially cheering on his Iowa State Cyclones. He also loved watching his kids and grandkids play sports, taking pride in their accomplishments and always cheering them on. Most of all, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends, and he will be remembered for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and warm, welcoming personality.
