Opal Ament

Opal was born on July 28, 1920 in Jesup, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Helen (Steffen) Weber. She married Robert W. Ament on June 19, 1941 in Dyersville, Iowa. Opal worked at the Dubuque Pack and finally at the Ertl Co. until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, especially flowers and tomatoes. Opal was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son, Edward "Mike" (Jacci) Ament of Dyersville, 2 granddaughters: Chris (John) Kertels and Angie (Jared) Wolfe, 2 great grandchildren: Alexandra and Olivia Kertels, one brother, Ed (Helen) Weber, 4 sisters: Rose Nebel, Jeanette Engler, Mary Knepper and Betty (Don) Arthofer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1992, two brothers, John and Don Weber and a sister, Helen Jasper.
