Mary Lou Vorwald

DYERSVILLE, IOWA Mary Lou Vorwald, 69 of Dyersville, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at St. Boniface Cemetery in New Vienna. Mary Lou was born September 21, 1948 in Manchester, the daughter of Henry and Jeanne (Bockenstedt) Oberbroeckling. She married James E. Vorwald on November 23, 1972 in New Vienna. She worked as a CNA, in home health care. She was very dedicated to her work. Mary Lou had a big heart and was “one of a kind”. She was a very loving mother and sister. Survivors include her son, Scott Vorwald of Dyersville, siblings: Milly Thissen of Bloomington, MN, Wayne Oberbroeckling of Worthington, Earl (Debbie) Oberbroeckling, Ron (Sharon) Oberbroeckling, Dean (Connie) Oberbroeckling all of Dyersville, Elaine Oberbroeckling of Dubuque, Al (friend Kris Read) Oberbroeckling of Monticello, in-laws: Carol Vorwald and Carl (Debbie) Vorwald both of New Vienna, Jan Lex and Arlene Vorwald both of Dubuque, Jean Driscoll of Mechanicsville, Donna (Jeff) Jacque of Dyersville, and Marian (John) Schmidt of Holy Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Alfred “Ted” and Irene Vorwald, her husband, James in 1978, one son, Jeffrey in 2008, in-laws: Herman Thissen, Frederick L.
