Mary Ann Samarin

Mary Ann Samarin of Dyersville, Iowa passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on April 29th, 2024.

Born in the Bronx, New York and later relocating to Southern California as a teenager with her family, Mary Ann became a schoolteacher. After raising a family and 40 plus years of teaching in the same school district, Mary Ann and her husband Howard retired to Dyersville, Iowa.

Mary Ann’s love of teaching continued into retirement as she would substitute for the Western Dubuque School District.

Mary Ann is survived by her sister Stephanie, son Howard, daughter in law Rochelle, and grandchildren Callie, Jarod, Brandon, and Ava.
