Marie E. Foote, 97, of Monticello, Iowa died Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Monticello, Iowa . Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, Iowa with burial at 2 p.m. in St Patrick's cemetery, Monti, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Keith Birch. The graveside committal service will be conducted by Rev. Fr. Donald Plamondon. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Bert, 2 brothers: Leo and Lawrence Takes and 1 sister: Bernenta Cook. Marie was born on December 27, 1913, in Buchanan County on the family farm, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Bading Takes. Marie often enjoyed playing cards, traveling and riding her horse pansey, when she was younger. Memorials are preferred.
