Linus Thole

Survivors include one daughter, Janet (David) Weber of Milwaukee, WI; three sons: Duane (Mary Beth) Thole of Dyersville, IA, Alvin Thole of Dallas, TX and Dale (Linda) Thole of Petersburg, IA; 11 grandchildren: Emily, Robert, Luke and Daniel Thole, Jennifer and Justin Weber, Matthew, Andrew and Tyler Thole, Randy and Melissa Thole; 3 sisters: Alice (Richard) Olberding of Dyersville, Viola (Irvin) Klosterman of Manchester and Rita Mae (Floyd) Feldmann of Sand Springs; 3 sisters-in-law, Clarinda Thole of Manchester, Bernice Thole of Dyersville and Ardell Hoeger of Garnavillo; 1 brother-in-law, Mark (Darlene) Hoeger of Cedar Rapids; Linus was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine, on August 11, 1994; 4 brothers, Lawrence, Francis, Charles and Alfred Thole, and 1 sister, Mary Ann Wessels. Linus was born on February 20, 1921, in Petersburg, Iowa, Iowa, the son of Frank and Eleanore (Fangmann) Thole. He married Bernadine Hoeger on August 21, 1951, in Guttenberg, Iowa. Together they farmed until their retirement in 1985. She preceded him in death on August 11, 1994. Linus was a veteran of WWII and was a lifetime member of Edward W. Lake V.F.W. Post 7736.
