SHERRILL, IOWA
Kathleen H. Stoffel, 77 of Sherrill, Iowa passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill, Iowa. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Tyler Raymond will officiate.
Kathleen was born on December 11, 1947, in Farley, Iowa, daughter of Harold and Florence (Link) Ernzen. She graduated from Dubuque Wahlert in 1965. She married David Stoffel on September 5, 1970, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sherrill, Iowa.
Kay worked numerous jobs. She had a strong passion working with children and worked at several schools and a daycare facility. She also enjoyed working at Hohnecker’s in Dubuque for many years. She spent all but two years of her life on her family farm. She and Dave ran the farm while she managed things around the home. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, and most of all, attending family and grandchildren’s events.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Dave; children: Steve (Jackie) Stoffel of Dubuque, Tom of Sherrill, Terry (Jenny) Stoffel of Manchester, Traci (Pete) Gael of Dubuque; grandchildren: Kendra and Matt Gael, Josh, Abbigail, Lauren, Grace Stoffel; siblings: Geri (Bill) Hall, Mark (Bev) Ernzen; in-laws: Leonard Kremer, Pat (Tom) Ellwanger, Deb (Ken) Kipper, Jodee (Jack) Theisen, and Gary Krause.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Glen and Lucille Stoffel (Robert Brimeyer); siblings: Mary Ann Kremer, Donnie (Rosie) Ernzen, Jim (Mary) Ernzen, Davey in infancy; in-laws: Connie Krause, and Joe Stoffel.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dubuque, especially, Kris, Morgan, and Jennie; Carol of Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging; Rev. Tyler Raymond; and the many family and friends for their compassionate care.
