Judy M. Ellerbach

HOLY CROSS, IOWA

Judy Marie Ellerbach, 72, of Holy Cross and a resident of Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, died at 11:41 p.m. on July 1, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. A memorial service will be held at Stonehill Care Center at a later date.

Judy was born on January 8, 1953, the daughter of Elmer and Irene (Hoffmann) Link, and the stepdaughter of Arlene (Breitbach) Link. She married Dennis Ellerbach on July 11, 1987, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Judy loved playing bingo, doing crosswords and word searches, making jokes, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her two children: George (Ariel Glasman) Ellerbach of Iowa City and Jennifer Ellerbach of Dubuque; three brothers: Dick (Judy) Link of Farley, Bob (Mary) Link of Colesburg, and Charlie Link of North Buena Vista; three sisters: Sue Link, Barb Coghlan, and Bev (Bob) Hodgson, all of Dyersville; brother-in-law, Leroy Jaeger of Earlville; stepbrothers: Don (Nancy) Breitbach of Shalimar, Florida; Larry (Fran) Breitbach of Dubuque; and Frank “Pedro” (Carol) Breitbach of Alamogordo, New Mexico; one stepsister, Carol Riekena of Dubuque; and a stepsister-in-law, Vickie Breitbach; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Irene (Hoffmann) Link; her stepmother, Arlene (Breitbach) Link; her mother-in-law, Rose Ellerbach; her father-in-law, Lawrence Ellerbach; one brother, Tom Link; one sister, Dianne Jaeger; one brother-in-law, Mike Coghlan; one stepbrother, Dave Breitbach; a stepsister-in-law, Joan Breitbach; and a stepbrother-in-law, Ron Riekena.
