Joseph Meyers

Joseph F. Meyers, 75, of Luxemburg, Iowa died Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Oakcrest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg, Iowa where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Luxemburg, Iowa where military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 137. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Joseph was born June 2, 1939 in Luxemburg, Iowa the son of Camillus and Viola (Timmer) Meyers. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1959 - 1965. Joseph enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting and trapping. He went deer and elk hunting in Colorado and bear hunting in Canada. Survivors include his sisters: Ruth (Merlin) Leick of Luxemburg, Rosemary (Henry) Mueller of Garnavillo, Romana (Anthony) Katauskas of Woodridge, IL, Leora (Robert) Bonert of Dyersville, brother, Robert (Linda) Meyers of Luxemburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Vickie Meyers, Grace (Herbert) Kann, nephew, Gerald Leick, great nephew, Jared Mueller.
