F***, I’m Dead
Jerry L. Thompson, 52, of Hopkinton, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at home surrounded by his loved ones. As a selfless man, he passed 18 minutes past his 29th anniversary.
A celebration of life will be held in the beloved memory of Jerry on May 9th from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Jerry was born on July 25, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Roger Thompson. He married Bonnie Domeyer on April 26, 1997.
Jerry enjoyed being a heavy diesel mechanic for Rauen Precision Truck Shop for 13 years. He also volunteered his time to being a firefighter for the community of Hopkinton for 15 years. His hobbies included being a crew chief for his two boys and many friends, working on anything with a motor, mushroom hunting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie; children: Thomas (Meghan) Thompson and Tony (Katlyn) Thompson; grandchildren: Brayton and Rowyn Thompson, Magnolia Thompson and his entire Mötley Crüe.
He was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Paul and Diane Domeyer, paternal grandparents, Vernon and Evelyn Thompson, maternal grandparents, Francis and Kay Sauerbry, a step-grandfather, Robert Heims, and 2 sisters-in-law, Chrissy Wegmann and Deb Domeyer.
