WORTHINGTON, IOWA
Janice Meyers, 80, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at Accura HealthCare, surrounded by the love of her family.
Visitation will be held 9 –10:30 am on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate the mass with Deacon Joe Schockemoehl assisting.
Janice was born on August 29, 1945, to Raymond and Rachel Kelchen. She was raised on the family farm, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life and became the foundation for the life she built with her husband and family.
Janice married Alfred Meyers on July 10, 1965, and together they shared a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. They farmed on the Kelchen family farm where Janice was raised, caring for the land and creating a home filled with love and cherished memories until their retirement.
Janice was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. She also worked as a dietary aide at Mercy Hospital and Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville, where her caring nature touched many lives. Janice enjoyed gardening, reading, and bowling, and found great happiness in nature. She loved watching birds, tending her flowers, and spending time outdoors on the family farm. Above all, she cherished her children and grandchildren, taking pride in their lives and treasuring every moment spent with them.
Janice is survived by her husband, Alfred Meyers; her children: Connie (Alan) Kramer, Paul (Tammy McClain) Meyers, and Jane (Russ) Boffeli; and her beloved grandchildren: Kyle (Laura) Kramer, Madeline (Eric Umhoefer) Kramer, Lauren (Ben Lange) Kramer, Chloe Meyers, Hunter Meyers, Lidia Boffeli, and Ben Boffeli; two great grandsons: Eli and Raymond Kramer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Rachel Kelchen, and two brothers in infancy.
Janice will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to family, her strong work ethic, and her appreciation for the beauty of God's creation. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the farm she cherished, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and compassion.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Accura HealthCare, Sherry Kelchen
of Medical Associates and Above and Beyond Hospice for the care, kindness, and support shown to Janice and her loved ones during her final days.
Kramer-Morris Funeral Home (Dyersville, Guttenberg, Garnavillo, Monticello, Holy Cross) is assisting the family and online condolences may be left for the family at www.kramer-morrisfuneralhome.com.
