Janet (Weber) Heery, 84, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. David Schatz will officiate.
Janet was born on March 1, 1941, in Dyersville, Iowa, to Ed and Helen (Hess) Weber. Janet grew up in Dyersville and spent time living in Minnesota, Illinois, and Florida throughout her life.
Janet’s life was rooted in love, kindness, and faith — qualities she carried with grace throughout her life. Janet was known for her gentle spirit, her unwavering devotion to family, quiet strength, and sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren, cherished the holidays, and always made time for those in need.
Janet is survived by her five children, who were the pride and joy of her life: Maureen Bowman of Tallapoosa, Georgia, Curt (Shelley) Heery of Lake Villa, Illinois, Bret (Renee) Heery of Commerce, Michigan, Christi (Jeff) Zupec of Clermont, Florida and Keith Heery of Grayslake, Illinois. Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Heery. Sisters-in-law, Lou Ann Weber and Maureen Woodward.
Janet had a special love for her grandchildren — Affectionally known as Grammy by Karisa Nadermann and Blair Barry, Matt and Josh Heery, Braeden and Brynn Zupec, Collin and Brooke Heery, and Ashley Heery — and blessed with four great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Kendra and Drake Barry, and Sean Plaster.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Eldon, Ronald, Dennis, Tom and Terry Weber. Her loving son Scot, daughter-in-law, Jessica (Clegg) Heery and son-in-law, Roger Bowman.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Aunt Louie, Making a Difference, Mercy One, Hospice of Dubuque and Hawkeye Care Center. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
Janet’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the family she held so dear.
