Herbert Becker

Herbert F. Becker, 96, of Dyersville, Iowa died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Herb was born September 15, 1914, the son of Joseph H. and Catherine (Goerdt) Becker. He and his brother worked the family farm until retirement in 1981. Survivors include nephews and nieces: Jerry (Kathy) Becker of Dyersville, Vernon Becker, Therese Melchert, Gilbert Becker, Ethel Hosch, Kenneth Becker, Janet Marbach, Virginia Uhlenkamp, Rosie Dettbarn, Grace Menke, David Becker, Larry Becker, Pat Becker, Marion Becker, Edward Becker, DeWayne Becker, Diane Forzano, Paul Becker, Linda Becker and Joseph J. Becker; many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and their spouses: Lorenz, Alvina, Reynold (Erma), Leander (Lavena), Loretta, Clarence (Lucille), and Joseph (Marie) Becker.
