Gregory Eugene Stickfort

Gregory Eugene Stickfort, age 67, of Garnavillo, died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals. He was born the son of Earl and Betty (Frye) Stickfort, August 17, 1946 in Elkader. Greg graduated from the Garnavillo High School in 1964, served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1966-1968 spending 13 months in Viet Nam, and was Honorable discharged as Corporal. He then returned home to farm with family on the Stickfort home farm until 1994, then worked for Water Tower Paint & Repair Co. in Clear Lake , Iowa, until 2006, and for Pattison Sand Mine for two years until he retired. He married Nancy in 1976 and is also survived by two daughters, Heather (Corey) Shaw of Pulaski, Tennessee and Leah (Brad Crary) Stickfort of Garnavillo; one son, Evan (Angela) Stickfort of Holy Cross; two grandchildren, Andrew Shaw and IsaBella Stickfort; two brothers, Earl Jr. (Tracy) Stickfort, and Stuart (Aracilly) Stickfort; three sisters, Connie (Guy) Stumph, Crystal Kessler, Kim (Phelix), and numerous, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
