GUTTENBERG, IOWA

Garth Wayne LeFevre. age 65, passed away at home on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Guttenberg, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at St. Timothy's United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Garth was born on July 24, 1959, in Waterloo Iowa to Donald and Bonnie (Offen) LeFevre. Garth graduated with the class of 1977 at Waterloo West High School, where he wrestled and played football. Garth also achieved his eagle scout badge during his high school years. In 1990 Garth earned his Associate of Applied Science from the Hawkeye Institute of Technology. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from The University of Northern Iowa.

Garth had a love for classic cars and even built his own 1965 Pontiac GTO from the ground up. He recently built his dream shop to showcase all the classic cars that he owned.

Garth helped to create the prototype for autonomous farming while working for an outside contractor at the time. Due to his work on the prototype, John Deere offered him a position to work for them. He then became a major part of automation at the John Deere Engine Works in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Garth is survived by his only son, Andrew Joseph Blanford (Kayla) of Hazleton; grandchildren: Mason Lee, Kyren Joseph; and a new baby boy on the way whom Garth did not get a chance to meet; nephews, Mark Billingsley (Guttenberg) and Michael Billingsley (Missouri) as well as a handful of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Garth was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bonnie (Offen) LeFevre; sister, Donnette LeFevre; and niece, Seanalee Bailey.
