Estella Meyers

Survivors include four sons: Robert (Martha) of Brownwood, TX, Thomas (Judi) of Buckeye, AZ, Fred (Linda) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Philip (Teresa) of Show Low, AZ; three daughters: Mary (Don) Mulherin of Cedar Rapids, IA, Judy Boge and Ellen (Dan) Tegeler, both of Dyersville, IA; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Emmett Winter of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, on May 21, 2000, a son-in-law, Bob Boge, and a brother, Clarence Winter. Stella was born on November 18, 1915, in Earlville, Iowa, the daughter of Philip J. and Rose C. (Stoffel) Winter. She married James R. Meyers on February 8, 1938, in Dyersville, Iowa. Stella was a homemaker, was employed at J.C. Penney for 10 years and volunteered at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Basilica, the Basilica Choir, and the St. Francis Xavier Resurrection Choir for many years. She also was a host maker. An Estella S. Meyers Memorial Fund has been established. Memorials are preferred.
