Obituary Edna M. Rausch, 96, of Garnavillo passed away December 10, 2020 at the Guttenberg Care Center. Edna was born on October 9, 1924 to John and Antonia (Roth) Welter near Millville, IA. She attended country school near Millville and then Holy Trinity School in Luxemburg, IA. Edna married Charley J. Rausch on June 17, 1947 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. They lived with her dad for 5 years near Millville and then for a short time near Colesburg, IA. Edna and Charley moved their growing family to Garnavillo in 1954 where they raised seven children. Charley passed away on December 2, 1992. Edna remained in her home until three years ago when she moved to the Towers Living Center in Garnavillo and just recently to the Guttenberg Care Center. Surviving Edna are her children, Jerry (Peggy) Rausch, Guttenberg, Janet (Ken) Bullerman, Calmar, Al (Mary) Rausch, Van Horne, Mary (Bob) Seifert, Garnavillo, Susan (Randy) Lamker, Garnavillo, and Lorna (Steve) Friedlein, Guttenberg. Her daughter Elaine passed away in 1984. Edna is also survived by 15 grandchildren including Tim (Tylyn) Rausch, Melanie (Josh) Rohner, Julie (Sean Ahmadi) Bullerman, Mark (Jessica) Bullerman, Kelli (Scot Kendall) Bullerman, Chris Bullerman, Todd (Alicia) Rausch, Katrina (Brad) Bremer, Tiffany (Alex) Sawyer, Brad (Melissa) Seifert, Mindy (Ben) Jones, Stacey Mease, Jordan Lamker, Chelsey (Ray Jones) Lamker, and Trevor Friedlein. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren. Her sister-in-law, Anna Mae Welter, of Dubuque also survives. Edna had many jobs in Garnavillo over the years, including priests housekeeper and church custodian, she worked 11 years at The Peterson Group, at the Garnavillo Elementary School, and was custodian for many businesses and did housekeeping for private individuals. Edna never drove a car (well, maybe from the back seat!) but still managed to take care of her family and get everything done by either walking or riding her bike. She accomplished many things, but the one she excelled at was being a great mom to her kids and the glue for the Rausch family. Edna enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was very thankful for rides from friends. She belonged to the McGregor Catholic Daughters for 44 years, the Garnavillo American Legion Auxiliary for 58 years, and was a member of the Garnavillo Community Boosters for many years, including serving as Treasurer and helping with the Annual 4th of July parade. Preceding her in death were her husband Charley and daughter Elaine, her parents, her brother Ralph Welter, and sisters Alberta (Alphonse) Roling, Lucille (Clarence) Theisen, Olive (Kermit) Mitchell, Marcella (Robert) Boeckenstedt, Germaine (Albert) Kloser, and a sister Bernice in infancy. Edna and her family would like to thank the staff at both the Towers Living Center and Guttenberg Care Center for assisting with her care over the last three years. Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Garnavillo Community Boosters, or an organization of your choice. Services Private Family Services
