LUXEMBURG, IOWA
Duane H. Willenbring, 81, of Luxemburg, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque.
Visitation will be held 9 – 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Tyler Raymond will officiate.
Duane was born July 6, 1944 in New Vienna, Iowa, son of Alphonse and Leona (Rausch) Willenbring. He married Ellen Ramler on September 24, 1966, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. He retired from McNamer Construction after working there for many years.
Duane was a master woodworker and carpenter who took pride in completing all projects to perfection. He had an amazing ability to determine how to best solve problems in the most innovative ways. His family will cherish forever the many treasures he built for them on his workbench. His quick wit and dry sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ellen; children: Angela (Robert Burger) of Worthington, Jason (Donna) of Dyersville and Dana Flugge of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren: Colton, Kylie and Keaton Willenbring; Cambrie (Trevor) Demmer; Danica and Sela Burger; and Brylie, Reegan, Attika and Ellison Flugge; great-grandson, Tobin Demmer; Sister, Arlene Bell; in-laws: Jim (Linda) Ramler, Fred (Marcia) Ramler, Gary (Sheryl) Ramler, Rosie (Dick) Kann, Jeff (Mary Jo) Ramler, Janie (Reid) Kuhlman, Rhonda Ramler, Shari (Dennis) Overman and Mary Willenbring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Ed and Helen Ramler, son Brian, Son-in-law, Brian Flugge, Brother, David; Sisters: Velma Ungs and Gladys Overman and brothers-in-law: John Ramler, Jerome Ungs, Don Koelker, Alfred Overman and Herb Bell.
