Doris Ann Kramer, 81, of Worthington, passed away September 13, 2025, at Accura HealthCare of Cascade after a long and courageous battle with dementia.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to funeral services.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church, in Worthington, Iowa. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Doris was born on May 1, 1944, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Emery and Flavia (Kister) Willenbring. Doris graduated from Xavier High School in Dyersville in 1962 and then began working at Reicher Shoes in Dyersville. She met the love of her life, Walter “Hub” Kramer at a dance in Worthington. After waiting for Hub to return from serving in Vietnam, the two were married October 4, 1969, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Out of this union came their three children, Shelly, Jason, and Molly.
Doris was a devout catholic and a member of St. Paul’s parish in Worthington. Over the years, she had a few part-time jobs and volunteered at St. Paul’s School and church, but what she enjoyed most was being a homemaker. She liked cooking, baking, decorating, watching TV, gardening, babysitting, going out to eat and playing cards. She also enjoyed a Pepsi, spending time outdoors and going on John Deere Gator rides with Hub around their acreage. Doris truly loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and always put others needs ahead of hers.
Doris is survived by her husband Walter “Hub” of nearly 56 years; children: Jason (Kristi) Kramer and Molly (Matt) Monahan all of Dyersville; grandchildren: Brianna (Jack) Nelson, Lexi Kramer & Jack Lynch (fiancée), Eric, Kylie, and Brooke Monahan; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Nelson; sister, Dina Schwendinger; brothers and sisters-in-law: Lois Konzen, Paul Kramer, Vera Steger, and Gene and Dorothy Kramer and many nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Shelly Kramer in 1985; her parents; mother and father-in-law, Walter and Celeste Kramer; in-laws: Earl Kramer, Leon and Rosalyn Kramer, Frank Konzen, Pat Kramer, and Alan Steger.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Accura and Above and Beyond Hospice Care for their excellent care and support.
