Dennis J. Ellerbach

Dennis James Ellerbach, 67, of Holy Cross and a resident of Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque, died at 5:15 p.m. on October 4, 2026 at Stonehill Care Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.

Dennis was born on July 23, 1959, the only child of Lawrence and Rose (Welter). He married Judy Link on July 11, 1987, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Dennis loved to watch movies, spend time with his wife and children, and enjoyed Sunday lunch with his wife and daughter. He also loved to go to bingo and other activities while living at Stonehill Care Center.

He is survived by his two children: George (Ariel Glasman) Ellerbach of Iowa City and Jennifer Ellerbach of Dubuque and many cousins and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Rose (Welter) Ellerbach as well as many aunts and uncles. 

Dennis’ family would like to thank the staff at Stonehill Care Center for their excellent care and support, especially Nurse Jason and Certified Nurse’s Aide Adrienne as well as the staff of Hospice of Dubuque for the excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to Stonehill Communities or Hospice of Dubuque.
