COLESBURG, IOWA

David Lee Domeyer, 72, of Colesburg, Iowa passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa, surrounded by his family.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Colesburg. Rev. John Haugen will officiate.

David was born on September 22, 1952, the son of LaVerne “Bud” and Ellen (Hogan) Domeyer. He grew up in Petersburg, working alongside his father at their business, Petersburg Appliance and Electric. David met his wife Diane and together they raised two children, a daughter and a son, in Colesburg. David was also blessed with four granddaughters whom he loved dearly. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diane; children: Kari (Curt) Tessum of Ramsey, MN, Kyle (Holly) Domeyer of Dubuque; four grandchildren: Elliot, Quinn, Blaire, Hazel; father, LaVerne “Bud”; sister: Mary (Dave) Stevens; in-laws: Elmer Ries, Jane (Wayne) Meyer, and Carla Ruegnitz.

He was preceded in death by his mother; siblings: Pat Domeyer, Carla Ries; parents-in-law, Gene and Jean Ruegnitz; and a brother-in-law, Craig Ruegnitz.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, Care Initiatives Hospice, and Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care.
