Cyril Krapfl

Cyril was born on February 16, 1912, in New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Clara (Johannas) Krapfl. He married Ernestine Willenborg on January 31, 1939, in Petersburg, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Petersburg area until retiring in 1974 when they moved to Dyersville. Ernestine passed away in August of 2006. He enjoyed helping out on the farm after retirement, fishing, nut cracking and making nut crackers, playing pool, cards, and baseball, ice skating and spending time with his family Survivors include sons: Merlin (Carol) of Ryan, IA, and Marvin (Nancy) of Earlville, IA, daughters: Darlene (John) Clemen of Dyersville and Claire (Stan) Rank of La Crosse, WI, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Melania Krapfl, Alice Baty, and Aminta Krapfl. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and his ten siblings Memorials are preferred.
