Bernita Mcmillin

Bernita McMillin, age 87, of Garnavillo, IA, formerly of Prairie du Chien Wis, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. She was born on October 19, 1927, in Reed Township in Clayton County Iowa to Lawrence and Amanda Werkamp. Bernita received her education locally and graduated from the McGregor High School. Shortly after school, Bernita was united in marriage with Delbert McMillin on October 19, 1945, at St. Paul Church in Garnavillo by Rev. Victor Hackbarth. For many years, Bernita farmed beside her husband while making a home and caring for her children. She enjoyed puzzles, country western music, going to garage sales, watching Maggie May Polka, Lawrence Welk program, her flowers and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernita is survived by her two daughters, Connie (James) Peterson, Pam (Rod) Davis; grandchildren, Renee Grace, Erikk (Candi) Peterson, Ellie (Mark) Pichelmann, Tim (Brie) Davis, Andy (Mandi) Davis; great grandchildren, Dion, Alexis, Noah, Hailey, Logan, Sadie, Emma, Ty, Will, Grace, Caleb and Anna. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Mardell and Lesa; one sister, Bernice Walters.Visitation: Friday 10:30 - 11:30 A.M.
