Alan J. Hoeger

DELHI, IOWA

Alan (Al) J. Hoeger, 59, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home. In accordance with Al’s wishes, cremation services will take place, and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with his children.

Al was born November 23, 1966, the son of Donald and Carlyn (Trumm) Hoeger.

Al was united in marriage to Angela Knipper in 1995, and though the marriage later ended in divorce, they were blessed with three daughters.

Farming was a big part of Al’s life, working side by side with his dad, Donnie, on the family farm outside of Delhi. Al was most proud of his daughters and all their accomplishments. He especially enjoyed watching them take part in sports during their younger years and more recently attending each of their weddings. Al also loved traveling to new places and making memories along the way.

Survivors include his children: Shawnae (Jeremy) Fischer of West Des Moines, Macy (Camden) Leonard of Mount Vernon, Olivia (John) Nagel of Greeley; siblings: Linda (Joe) Goldsmith of Earlville, Gary (Patti) Hoeger of Earlville, Sandy (Mike) Mensen of Delhi; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Carlyn; brother, Mike Hoeger; and daughter, Karli Hoeger.
