Ron Ashline was born on July 22, 1941, in Edgewood IA, the son of Lynn and Verda (Brookshier) Ashline. He passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at his home in Guttenberg. Ron grew up in the Edgewood area where he graduated from the Edgewood High School and later received further education from the University of Dubuque. Over 38 years, Ron drove truck commercially all over the United States. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from September 29, 1960 to June 10, 1964 where he earned an honorable discharge. Prior to his discharge on April 11, 1964, Ron was married to Judy Kann at St. Marys Catholic Church in Guttenberg. This union blessed them with three children. Over the years, Ron truly enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing, hunting and camping especially if he was doing these activities with his family which he loved more than anything in this world. His family was a representation of his life legacy and his greatest achievement. Rons memory will be forever embedded in the hearts of his wife of 48 years and two days, Judy; three children, Jeff (Sandy) Ashline, Robin Ashline and Jeremy (Rachel) Ashline; three grandchildren, Nick (Mikayla), Stephanie and Jackson; one great grandson Michael Ashline; one brother Dick (Mabel) Ashline and many other relatives and friends. Ron was preceded in death by his parents.In Lieu of flowers and all types of sympathy memorials are preferred to benefit a local community project that Ron was very enthusiastic about and that project was the new Guttenberg Municipal Hospital and the address is P.O.
